The second-half equaliser of jake Hastie enabled Rotherham to come from behind to claim a Sky Bet League One draw from Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
Using Marc McNulty discovering the net after 31 minutes sunderland made the start.
The Scotsman was introduced by alim Ozturk’s fast free-kick throughout the center, and having scored at Accrington in his side’s weekend win, he made it two goals within four times as he slotted past Daniel Iversen.
The hosts should have been two goals to the good midway through the first half, but Aiden McGeady’s tame campaign was easily preserved while Clark Robertson scythed down Lynden Gooch to concede a penalty.
Rotherham may have had a spot-kick of their own when Luke O’Nien appeared to deal with in the region, and with steadied the boat after their dreadful start, the visitors should have experienced an equaliser on the stroke of half-time, only for Matt Crooks to venture over from six yards out.
They levelled with 24 minutes , benefiting from a hesitancy from Ozturk that allowed Freddie Ladapo to win ownership.
He teed Hastie from the box up, and the Millers drilled a finish into the roof of the net.
