After registering for Guildford Phoenix former Chelsea and Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has embarked.
The 37-year-old, who is currently technical and functionality adviser at Chelsea, retired at the conclusion of last year from football.
Cech trained with another hockey side, the Guildford Flames, earlier this season and the prior Czech Republic has since joined the Phoenix.
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to play with the Phoenix to find match encounter, Cech said in a statement on the club website.
I really hope I will help this young group to achieve their goals for the season and try to win as many matches as you can when I have the chance to playwith.
After 20 decades of professional football this is going to be a wonderful experience for me to play with the game I loved to play and watch as a kid.
Phoenix head coach Andy Hemmings said:The registering of Petr is enormous for the Phoenix. He is a great man who trains hard and I cannot wait to watch him make his debut.
