As Cardinals and the Nationals Match in a Significant battle, A matchup of NL East and NL Central opponents tonight at Busch Stadium.
Ryan Braun’s bat shocked the Brewers at home. Braun swatted at a grand slam at front of the 9th inning to take a 7-4 lead and were able to hang on after the Cardinals struck back at the bottom half of the inning.
The Cardinals added a couple had not they handed up a grand slam. Michael Wacha had a terrific day at the workplace, however, the bullpen allow down him. Wacha went 5 innings however, the Cardinals ended allowing 7 runs. All were due to inept pitching from the bullpen.
Before taking off for Chicago, the Cardinals will remain home for another three days. That will be their main series of the year thus far. The most important of all will be the normal season finale, that is contrary to the Cubs but that time in Busch Stadium. Thanks that weekend, the Cardinals are holding on a slender 2-game cause the NL Central.
Deciding the branch may come down to the last weekend with the Cubs in town. Who knows what exactly the NL Central is going to look like then. In other words, this series against the Nationals is important, but it’s important for the visitors.

Stephen Strasburg is going to be quite a tall order for the Cardinals in this particular contest. He is currently living up to expectations in 2019 and has been able to stay healthy this year. This is the first season because 2014 the Strasburg has produced at least 30 starts. Hegot to stay around this season and’s missed. Because the main time of the season is upon us, I really don’t need to be jinxing him , though.
Strasburg goes to St. Louis with the ERA of 3.49 and also 1.05 WHIP. He has permitted fewer or 3 runs in five straight games, so he’s been pitching. On the other hand, the Cardinals have had success against Strasburg. They are one of only a couple teams who have brought out some hot bats against Strasburg.
The Cards are hitting .289 at 114 at-bats from him. That’s not from this planet, but .289 against a pitcher of his caliber is strong. He’s been great on the road, although not spectacular with a 3.61 ERA in 107.1 innings.
Against the Nationals, Dakota Hudson has had a pitching practice on the other side before. He’s faced the Nationals and has been eloquent throughout. The Nationals are hitting on against .182 without a home runs. Hudson has been flying under the radar.
His numbers have been even better compared to Strasburg, using a 3.38 ERA at 159.2 innings pitched. Busch Stadium has been nice to him as well, as he has posted a 2.92 ERA and 1.26 WHIP at 86.1 innings. There is apparently a whole lot of significance with the Cardinals in this one at the current cost.
