Giants vs. Bears Pick – NFL Pre-Season Week 2 – Aug. 16th

Week Two of This pre-season continues into the weekend Because the Chicago Bears head to the Meadowlands for a Friday night showdown vs. the New York Giants.

While both of these teams are slated to be on opposite ends of this spectrum at the coming regular season, it has become immediately clear both Chicago and New York are handling the pre-season differently.
For the Bears, they are primed for still another run in the NFC North title and as a result are really easing many of their starters into the normal season. They do play the first game of the season also, kicking off from Green Bay on Thursday, September 5th.
On the opposite side would be the Giants. Adhering to an impressive showing in this week’s game, there’s suddenly a whole lot of optimism for the lowly Giants. They beat the Jets last week with a high octane attack, and rookie quarterback Daniel Jones looked exciting in his introduction. Many fans and pundits alike are definitely eager to see what he could do in Week 2 with extended time and also some repetitions with the first-teamers. Just how long will it be before Daniel Jones exceeds Eli Manning as the beginning? This is certainly a scenario to see going forward.
So far as display games go, this is expected to be quite the leading match-up on Friday night — filled with intrigue, drama, and storylines. Continue reading below as we delve into the thickness on each side, in addition to provide you with a winner to begin your weekend off on the perfect note. Appreciate the Giants vs. Bears!
Chicago Bears +2 (-115)
@ New York Giants -2 (-105)
Over 42 (-110)
Underneath 42 (-110)
Few teams approach the record of pre-season games with more indifference than the Chicago Bears correct now. Head coach Matt Nagy has repeatedly been on record lamenting the period of the schedule and the way that it’s not an environment he wishes to actually expose his starters to. He’s observed some unfortunate injuries occur in meaningless matches and desperately wishes to avoid that situation again. Last week,” Mitchell Trubisky was satisfied to hand off the ball several occasions, and just like this — his day was finished. Expect an identical output in Week 2.
The Bears have instead prioritized simulated games and replicating actual conditions in an controlled environment for their group. They even rented out a stadium, place in lighting, leased a DJ, etc. — all to make an atmosphere which can replicate opening night on September 5th. The starters obtained a slew of repetitions according to Nagy and he had been content with both the action seen from both the first-team defense and crime. Because of this, do not expect much activity from the well-known Bears players on Friday night. It will be lots of Chase Daniel and Tyler Bray on Friday evening, which needs to be quite a welcome sight for a hungry Giants’ defense.
For New York, they are treating this contest somewhat differently as they did not go out and schedule their own practice match. This is their practice, and all indications are that their starters will observe a solid chunk of time, even probably for upwards of an entire quarter. Head coach Pat Shurmur needed to alter his plan of attack last week due to a serious weather delay, but with clear skies in sight — it sounds as if he’ll let equally Eli Manning and Daniel Jones play the vast majority of the starters, along with the first-team offensive lineup. This is good news for the Giants along with great intel for bettors of this clash. The border should be important in having the Giants’ starters probably feast around the Bears’ backups for an whole quarter.
Behind Manning and Jones, Shurmur has stated he would also prefer to evaluate another QB’s on the roster — Alex Tanney and Kyle Lauletta. While neither inspire much confidence beneath center, the direct New York owns from the first half should be very much secure into the second-half for a complete game bet. If you’re feeling stressed, you can always bet the G-Men in just the first half of it, however, New York should be comfortable winners in front of their home crowd. Expect another solid outing for Daniel Jones to continue to assemble.
