George Scott is excited about taking another step in his coaching career with a transfer to Eve Lodge Stables week.
Even the 30-year-old has enjoyed four successful years from where he’s a clutch of champions – most notably James Garfield, who obtained the 2017 Mill Reef Stakes and the 2018 Greenham.
He’s currently set to move only a few hundred yards across the Hamilton Road into an yard which was Lester Piggott’s former foundation.
Scott explained:”I’m really excited about the opportunities that moving into Eve Lodge Stables provides us. The facilities are fantastic and will give us every chance to advance after four enjoyable years in Saffron House Stables.
“We have increased considerably since I saddled my very first runner back in November 2015 and I look back fondly on several fantastic days that we have had up to now.
“James Garfield’s Group-race successes at two and three will be the obvious high points, but we have enjoyed a lot of other terrific effects, including global victory in Dubai, Turkey and Qatar.
“We have been fortunate enough to grow in those four years – therefore the requirement to move to bigger premises with excellent facilities.
“The ambition today is to find more quality horses that could let us progress again. It’s a challenge we’ll be working to make winners and provide the best value for our owners and which the team and I are keen to adopt.
“Over the coming weeks and weeks I will be busy at all the major sales trying to make sure that we construct a promising group of horses for our very first full season at Eve Lodge at 2020.”
As well as his base with stabling, it owns a treadmill, two horse-walkers , big paddocks and an indoor trip. Eve Lodge also provides comprehensive onsite staff lodging and a owners’ facility.
