The Dina Asher-Smith of Wonderful Britain Conducted a season’s best time to win the 100m at the Diamond League Final at Brussels.
Even the 23-year-old clocked 10.88 moments, only three-hundredths of a second outside of her British recording, to complete before double Olympic and seven-time world winner Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce using Marie-Josee Ta Lou in third.
This year her time also makes her fourth fastest woman over 100m in the world. Later this season, she will attempt a sprint double at the World Championships in Doha.
British heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson ended third in the long jump with a best attempt of 6.73m, together with compatriot Lorraine Ugen back in fifth location.
Johnson-Thompson’s rival for the world heptathlon title in Doha – dominating winner Nafissatou Thiam – came third in the high jump Friday night.
In the men’s 200m, Noah Lyles backed his 100m success in Zurich with a comfortable win in 19.74 minutes.
Andre De Grasse and world winner Ramil Guliyev both ran the best times behind the American of season to finish third and second respectively.
