As they dropped their second in a row against the Padres at San Diego, the Chicago Cubs played over the road as the Cubs last night. I don’t understand what it is, however, by losing on the road fast, Joe Maddon has to figure out their problem. If they do get the postseason, they’re going to be travel to some other destination to play with at the Wild Card Game.
Before that matchup that is possible, the Cubs must enter the postseason. That is going to need several wins on the road down the stretch. They have only a half game edge over the Milwaukee Brewers, therefore it is no guarantee that the Cubs are playing in the postseason.
Following this show in San Diego, the Cubs will return to Wrigley Field for an important conflict against the Cardinals. Then they’re fortunate to play host to the Reds, which is a show from a team who’ve fought with the Mariners in the street. After that things will become tricky for the Cubs.
The Cubs play their six games on the street, including a three-game remain in St. Louis from the division-leading Cardinals. That’s not likely to be an easy weekend to wrap up the time and also their postseason chances may come down to that. A push in another few weeks and the Cubs might be battling the NL Central and not a wildcard.
Caring for business in the series finale against the Padres would provide help. Yu Darvish, who has been pitching as a Ranger at his finest since his time, will get the nod with this one. The Padres are expected to go with rookie Dinelson Lamet against Darvish. Head below to our complimentary Cubs vs. Padres select.

Yu Darvish had heard that the criticism levied against him by observers regarding his lack of success over the last few years. If he didn’t have high expectations and receiving paid the cash would be OK. Darvish is presumed to be one the best pitchers in the significant leagues. And that hasn’t been the case for him the last two seasons. Having said that, Darvish has revealed flashes of people believed in him to begin with.
Darvish has been looking good lately, with just 1-run allowed in his previous 13 innings. In three from his four outings, Darvish has been directly on stage with no runs allowed. So, capability and the talent is still there using Darvish. I think that it’s more psychological with him. Whatever the case reaches Wrigley Field, Darvish has not been at his best in Chicago at home.
He’s looked better on the street in 2019. In 87.1 innings working as a visitor, Darvish has recently posted an ERA of 3.30 and also 1.03 WHIP. Compare this with his attempt in the home, where his figures have gone south for a 5.14 ERA along with 1.26 WHIP.
He’ll be on the road in San Diego from a competitor which have been useless against him Thursday. The Padres have never have a lot of blueprint against Darvish, as they’ve been fooled for a .176 batting average in 51 at-bats. Darvish likely has a productive day against the Padres here.
Lamet hasn’t been especially great in San Diego. He’s favored to pitch on the street, although An individual would believe the youngster would be helped by the friendly ballpark of pitcher. Lamet holds a 4.85 ERA in PetCo as opposed to some 3.19 ERA in the street. Lamet may not like flying in San Diego, however I still think Darvish is about Thursday. I am siding with Darvish to the Cubs back trail and salvage this series with a split in San Diego.
