Christian Eriksen says that he wishes his future could be decided”like in Soccer Manager” after failing to secure a movement from Tottenham.
The Denmark international, who scored Spurs’ opener into their 2-2 derby draw with Arsenal on Sunday, admitted in the summer he was considering leaving the club this summer in order to”try something new”.
Eriksen, that had been linked with a move is at the last year of his contract and is liberated to signal clubs on a pre-contract arrangement from January 1.
“I wish I could decide just like in Soccer Manager, but sadly I can not,” Eriksen told Danish book Ekstra Bladet.
When asked if the remarks he made concerning his future were a error, Eriksen said:”No, it was not. Nevertheless, it’s soccer and you never know what happens in soccer. Many items always come into play.
“To me it is not tricky to clean my thoughts. I really don’t read much of what’s written.
“And now I have been involved for many decades, where there have been a number of rumours each year. Nonetheless, it’s apparent that it’s been a little more fierce this season because my contract is about to expire.
“I understand a good deal of people are interested in where I always need to perform with. That is the way it is. This is if you’ve done well how it is in a high club. There will always be rumours.”
