Chris Eubank Jr has accused Billy Joe Saunders of preventing him – but warns he will”get what’s coming” when they eventually talk about a ring.
An expected rematch between both Brits – who both fought recently at middleweight – was mooted since their fight in November 2014.
Saunders won that fight by split decision at London, but Eubank Jr insists he could get his revenge.
He told Sky Sports News:”We have been trying to make that fight for decades. It happens, it happens.
“He’s not a priority for me because there’s a lot of other big names on the market. But when that battle happens, he’ll get what’s coming, and I will be able to proceed.”
Asked whether he felt Saunders had been avoiding him, or if the rematch has not been arranged because of motives, Eubank Jr said:”Both.
“He doesn’t wish to fight unless he is getting paid a crazy amount of money. But at this stage, the struggle can be made; it is only where and when.”
While he’s unsure when he’ll get another shot Saunders, Eubank – who won the IBO super-middleweight title when beating James DeGale in February – says his next fight will likely soon be announced.
“I haven’t been as active as I needed to be this year,” that the 29-year-old recognized. “I said I wished to fight three times this year and I have only fought once.
“I will certainly be fighting before the year’s out. It’ll be within the next few months and there will be an announcement in the next couple of months on the opponent and venue.”
Eubank Jr provided his ideas about the rematch between Anthony Joshua along with Andy Ruiz Jr, that Occurs on December 7 live on Sky Sports Box Office.
The 29-year-old believes Joshua can easily exude his defeat to Ruiz Jr – the very first of his professional career – as long as he approaches the struggle with all the right”mindset”.
“AJ is a champion,” Eubank Jr.”I believe if he goes in there together with the ideal mindset, then he can do the company easily. He just did not have the mindset to do it in the battle.
“I think he possibly underestimated him as we did, especially when you’re fighting with a man that doesn’t look like a fighter.
“However he underestimated himhe paid the price, and now I’m convinced he’s going to be fighting like his life is dependent upon it.
“He wants his belts back. He’s worked so tough to realize what he is achieved – I don’t think he will let Ruiz to upset him .”
